Skiathos in June

Located in the Aegean sea, Skiathos is a part of a cluster of islands known as the Sporades, just east off of the coast of mainland Greece. Tourism to this beautiful Greek island has grown since the 2008 hit film Mama Mia, which was filmed in Skiathos, however despite a surge in popularity - Skiathos still retains its authenticity and charm.
Perfect for couples, Skiathos is the perfect relaxing get-away. With over 40 beaches and a cosmopolitan old-town, Skiathos makes a fantastic destination if you don’t enjoy the hustle and bustle of big, flashy resorts. Don’t be fooled by it’s sleepy nature though, there is plenty to do in Skiathos which includes sailing, beach hopping (to get to the best beaches hiring a 4x4 is the best way to discover some hidden gems!), quad biking, watersports, old-town tours, Mama Mia island tours and even island hopping - neighbouring islands of Skopelos and Alonissos are a short ferry ride away and both can easily be seen in a day.
Skiathos is a small island, only 7 miles long and 4 miles wide. It’s the smallest of the Sporades, however is by far the most beautiful, with an abundance of hidden little beaches and coves.
Be warned though, Skiathos is very hilly so if you have any mobility issues, we will be able to work with you to find suitable accommodation. Whether you are after a self-catering apartment, villa, hotel or an island hopping experience, Skiathos has it all.
Here at Bideford Travel we work closely with many tour operators who would be able to put a package holiday together for you, using flights from Bristol. Alternatively, if you want something a bit more tailor made that includes a spot of island hopping, we can arrange this for you too. Make an enquiry for summer 2020 today!
